I’m proud to be moderating this unique professional development panel at UT Austin, hosted by our Core First Year Program:

You Are Not a Starving Artist: How to Build and Sustain a Creative Life
Join us Wednesday, April 10th for a conversation with four Austin creatives as they answer student questions on how to make your work, pay your bills, and thrive in today’s creative economy.

In response to a program-wide student survey where students expressed their biggest professional concerns, each panelist will present their professional trajectory as it relates to:

  • Transitioning out of school and into a creative field

  • Building and leveraging professional skills

  • Supporting and sustaining your creative work

  • Finding financial stability

The presentations will be followed by questions and conversation moderated by Core faculty, Christine Garvey.
