What Resonated.

New studio, new year. Hallelujah.

It's x-mas week, which means one thing: I'm watching LOTR in my pajamas. You know where to find me.

In the mean time, here's my list of things that resonated this year:

1. Rachel Cusk's A Life's Work: On Becoming a Mother.

2. Tick, tick ... boom! and the life of Jonathan Larson, creator of Rent.

3. Andrew Garfield on how art-making helps him grieve.

4. Eula Biss' Having and Being Had. "an inquiry into the American value system of buying and owning, and what we trap ourselves in when we invest in the trappings of the middle class."

5. Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Turns out Formula 1 is a weirdly fascinating world!

6. Mothers as Makers of Death.

7. Bo Burnham's Inside. I've watched this comedy special 5 times. It's a work of art that truly captures the strange moment we're in.

8. David Altmejd's Enlightenment of the Witch still haunts my dreams.

9. Michaela Coel's I May Destroy You and her complex and compelling depiction of rape culture.

10. Thoughts on being a "real" artist.

Here's to letting things marinate in 2022. Happy New Year y'all.
