Christine Garvey is an artist, educator, and entrepreneur based in Austin, Texas.
She received her MFA from Concordia University Montreal, and BFA from Washington University in St Louis. Her paintings and installations have been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions with Galerie Circulaire (Montreal), Sur La Montagne Galerie (Berlin), Jules Maidoff Gallery (Florence), HERE Art Center (New York) and upcoming exhibitions at Terminal 136 (San Antonio, Texas) and Visual Art Exchange (Raleigh, NC).
Garvey is the recipient of numerous awards including a 2016 Fulbright Research Grant from the Italian Commission, Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts Fellowship, and most recently, a City of Austin Community Initiatives Grant. Garvey is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice and the 2D Art Foundations Area Head at the University of Texas in the College of Fine Art.
